Development Partners (DPs) of the Ethiopia Social Accountability Program (ESAP3) discussed on the program’s exit strategy on July 7, 2023, Addis Ababa.
Attended by representatives from the World Bank, UK Aid, Embassy of Ireland, Austrian Development Agency, Embassy of Sweden and VNG International (the Management Agency of ESAP3), the discussion highlighted the need for a planned approach in which the implementing partners, local governments, media institutions, local structures created during the course of the project, such as woreda social accountability committee (WSAC) and community based organizations (CBOs) jointly take part in the institutionalization and sustainability of the program.
ESAP3, being implemented by 75 local CSOs in 416 woredas throughout the country, is expected to phase out in May 2024.
